Experience

Northrop Grumman Corporation
Aerospace Engineering Company
Redondo Beach, California

Software Engineering Intern

May 2019 - August 2019

  • Worked on solving several machine learning problems suited for reinforcement learning solutions.

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
Department of Energy Federal Research Laboratory
Livermore, California

Research Assistant Summer Intern

May 2018 - August 2018

  • Applied Recurrent Neural Networks towards predicting the risk of cervical cancer for patients given past screening test results and qualitative data about lifestyle. The dataset involved featured a high target class imbalance. Highest performing predictor successfully captured 87% of the area under the ROC curve and 96% overall accuracy.
  • Worked on creating a neural network using LSTM and convolutional branches to predict track widths for a Selective Laser Melting problem. Dataset included videos of the laser solidifying tracks on a powder bed and the corresponding pyrometer data
Data Science Summer Intern

May 2017 - August 2017

  • Worked with the High Performance Supercomputing and Power Data Visualizations groups to develop a scalable query wrapper in Scala for fast reading and compilation of supercomputer performance data from a Cassandra database. This tool can be used to query the database using any programming language with Spark support.
  • Worked with National Ignition Facility engineers to develop a visualizations dashboard application for easy analysis of fusion shot result data. Prototyping was done in Jupyter Notebook using Pandas and Plotly in Python. The final application consisted of a Django backend serving a responsive intranet website that allowed researchers to manipulate custom data visualizations.
